Ethan Hall (b. 2000) is an American percussionist, composer, and teacher. His compositions blend influences such as minimalism, electronic music, and jazz fusion with a contemporary percussion sound. Ethan’s compositions have been premiered by the University of Texas Percussion Ensemble and the Eastman Chamber Percussion Ensemble. In 2023, he was selected as the winner of the GPIMC Composition Competition.
As a performer, Ethan competed in the 2024 TROMP International Percussion Competition. He is also a member of the Austin Percussion Collective, a chamber percussion group that performs frequently in the Austin area. In 2022, Ethan performed at PASIC as a member of the Eastman Percussion Ensemble.
Ethan is currently pursuing a master’s degree in music performance at the University of Texas at Austin under the guidance of Thomas Burritt and Ivan Trevino. He earned his bachelor’s degree in performance from the Eastman School of Music, where he studied with Michael Burritt.
Ethan currently resides in Austin, where he works as a private instructor for local high school students.
